The Assignment
Minet is a trusted pan-African advisor that meets the uncertainties of tomorrow by delivering risk and human capital solutions today. In Kenya, Minet managed the insurance cover for teachers for a decade (2015-2025) having being contracted by the Teachers Service Commission. The consultancy aimed to revitalise Minet by communicating to teachers and stakeholders benefits of the scheme.
Summary of Services
- Provide coverage of TSC-MINET Kenya teacher insurance issue.
- Develop suitable media and communication messages/statements for Minet for various media channels.
- Act as a media liaison for Minet.
- Mobilise and manage the media during selected events.
- Advise/brief the Minet appropriately on matters related to media coverage and communication.
Key milestones

A crisis communication plan for the teacher’s medical scheme helped a great deal in dealing with the backlash from teachers’ unions in regards to the recruitment of a medical service provider for teachers.

Success in mitigating negative reports and managing the crisis that was tormenting among trade unions and teachers who were determined to push for a non-renewal of the Teachers Medical Insurance Scheme with Minet and its consortium members.
Success in contract renewal in 2020 for five years.
