With the national government keen on ensuring equity, accessibility and affordability of higher education as a pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, the Universities Fund (UF) is now proactively educating secondary school students about higher education financing opportunities.
The Universities Fund, alongside Family Bank Foundation, engaged KCSE examination candidates at Moi Forces Academy to ensure they are well-versed with financial opportunities before joining universities.
The agencies interacted with more than 224 beneficiaries of the Family Bank Foundation.
The move comes at an opportune time when the number of university enrolment and application for government funding by students continue on an upward trajectory.
UF Grants Management Deputy Director Dr Richard Ngali shared insights on government scholarship eligibility and the benefits of planning ahead for university education.
Dr Ngali also demonstrated how application for aid is done through the Higher Education Financing portal.
Family Bank Foundation Executive Director John Waimiri reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting education and creating pathways for learners to achieve their dreams.
He said the Foundation not only support students financially but also equip them with life skills.
