The Assignment

Kenya is one of the countries that started reporting case of COVID-19. The first case was reported on 13th March 2020 and the figures have kept increasing with time. The Government came out strongly to advice people to stay at home, reduce social contacts, avoid mass gatherings and has also imposed night time curfew in an effort to reduce the transmission. For the national response to COVID-19 in Kenya to be successful, the Ministry of Health required support to develop and implement a comprehensive plan on COVID-19 to address issues of messaging, IEC materials
development media engagement and monitoring for a period of six months.

Summary of services

  • Developed a communication to address issues of messaging, IEC materials and media engagement and monitoring for a period of six months from June 2020.
  • Media monitoring meant to track media coverage of the COVID-19 national response by major digital services, broadcast and social media.
